Trial begins for man who crashed truck into Skyway Bridge

On the afternoon of July 31st, 2014 a dump truck with it’s bin raised crashed into Skyway Bridge.The man who was driving the truck has pleaded not guilty, and his trial began on Wednesday.A dump truck with a raised bin stuck in the scaffolding having crashed and the public left wondering how it could happen.The bridge, which was already under repairs at the time, remained closed for the weekend, snarling traffic.It would eventually be 7 months and cost the Province 1.2 million dollars to repair.Police arrived shortly after the crash and arrested 35 year old Sukhvinder Singh Rai of Brampton. he is facing 4 charges: impaired driving, driving with a blood alcohol content over 80 milligrams, dangerous driving, and mischief endangering life.Singh Rai has pleaded not guilty. The trial, which is not in front of a jury is expected to last 10 days.
