The Professionals team took 17 homes to auction. 11 Seashell Ave, Mermaid Beach was one of the standouts of the nightMore than 200 people were squeezed into the Mermaid Beach Bowls Club to watch the hammer go down on eight properties. The homes on offer included beachside mansions, riverfront homes, apartments with ocean views and townhouses from Surfers Paradise to Burleigh HeadsJohn Henderson Professionals Mermaid Beach principal Andrew Henderson said his agents were in the process of negotiating potential deals on the ten remaining properties.Mr Henderson described the night as intense and said it was a big hit for Gold Coasters. “We had a terrific crowd turn up and the bidding for some of the properties was particularly intense,’’ Mr Henderson said.“Most of the buyers on the night were from Gold Coast or Brisbane.“This is the first time we have held a mass auction during winter and there is no doubt that we will plan a similar event next year.”Some of the other sales on the night included a four-bedroom home at 35 Venice St which sold for $1.125 million. The 405sq m block is a stone’s throw from the beach. Among the other sales was a one-bedroom Nobby Beach unit at 28 Chairlift Ave for $270,000 as well as a three-bedroom home at 6-8 Petrel Ave for $701,000.last_img
