In January this year, the oil giant BP Amoco set up such a scheme.“Charities on the Intranet” gives charities the chance to promote projects directly to BP Amoco employees via the company’s Intranet. BP Amoco will match the funds generated by any employee donating via this system. The scheme is initially available only in London, but will be extended nationwide later this year. Only religious organisations and political parties will be excluded. Advertisement Howard wrote in his ground-breaking book: “Existing corporate supporters who have Intranets are therefore worth approaching, and asking whether they will allow a fundraising appeal area on their Intranet, or perhaps a weekly or monthly appeal on the message of the day that users see every timethey start up their computers. Employers could then add their matched giving support to such donations, keeping all the activity private and internal.”Order Direct Connection’s guide to Fundraising on the Internet AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to TwitterTwitterShare to FacebookFacebookShare to LinkedInLinkedInShare to EmailEmailShare to WhatsAppWhatsAppShare to MessengerMessengerShare to MoreAddThis  17 total views,  1 views today AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to TwitterTwitterShare to FacebookFacebookShare to LinkedInLinkedInShare to EmailEmailShare to WhatsAppWhatsAppShare to MessengerMessengerShare to MoreAddThis Howard Lake | 11 February 1999 | News Three years ahead About Howard Lake Howard Lake is a digital fundraising entrepreneur.
